JASSA 2017 Scholarship Program
Are you studying Japanese language, culture, or international business? If so, you are qualified to apply for one of the three scholarships offered by the Japan America Society of San Antonio (JASSA). The competition is open to all college or university students and is intended to support the student in furthering academic work in Japanese studies, either in the U.S. or in Japan.
Previous winners have used their scholarship to travel to Japan; others have continued Japanese study at the university level. One of the winners from last year said, “The JASSA scholarship funds helped me to pay for a portion of my master’s degree, which moves me closer to my goal of working abroad at an international accounting firm. The scholarship was a rewarding representation of the benefits received from a wonderful organization.”
A committee composed of several JASSA board members will review all applications and will choose the recipients of the scholarships. In the past, up to three recipients were chosen; $1,000 went to the leading contender. The winners will be recognized at a future JASSA meeting.
Applications are accepted until March 31, 2017.
